Why the Military Community?

U.S. Military Candidates by the Numbers

Veterans

Each year, approximately 200,000 military members will depart active duty and become available to join the civilian job market.  We recognize the exceptional value in the specialty training and leadership experience that they received while serving in the Armed Forces.

Military Spouses

Currently, more than 500,000 spouses of active-duty Army, Navy, Marine, and Air Force service members seek employment at 100+ military installations nationwide.

77% of military spouses report wanting and/or needing work as secondary income earners.

Unemployment is over 25% for this demographic.  Of those employed, military spouses on average receive wages that are 25% lower than their civilian counterparts.

88% of military spouses have completed college coursework, making it a highly skilled labor pool.

45% of military spouses have earned a Bachelor's Degree or higher.

Military spouses are a reflection of the diversity of our nation.

90%+ of spouses are women or identify as minorities, and 15-20% are bilingual.

The above data has been retrieved from the Department of Defense and the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP).
